Kallang Sport Centre Badminton: An Honest Answer
Kallang Sport Centre is at 8 Stadium Boulevard, Singapore 397804, open daily from 7am to 10pm, and it sits in the middle of the country’s biggest sports precinct. It has no badminton hall.
That reads oddly for an area this central, but there is no public badminton hall in Kallang at all.
Kallang Sport Centre has no badminton hall, and neither Kallang nor Geylang has a public badminton hall of any kind. The centre runs tennis, netball, squash, lawn bowls, athletics and a gym. The nearest public badminton halls are the two Bendemeer school halls, both open at weekends only.
ActiveSG lists the centre’s related facilities as the Home of Athletics, Kallang Tennis Centre, Kallang Netball Centre, Kallang Squash Centre, Kallang Lawn Bowl, Katong Petanque Courts, Katong ActiveSG Gym and Katong Swimming Complex.
Every one of those is a real facility and none of them is a badminton hall. Kallang Sport Centre is a serious sports address; badminton is simply not among the sports it holds.
Neither Kallang nor Geylang has a public badminton hall you can book through ActiveSG. The nearest two are both in Bendemeer, and both open at weekends only.
Bendemeer Primary School Hall at 91 Bendemeer Road and Bendemeer Secondary School Hall at 1 Saint Wilfred Road. Both are school halls, open Saturday 3pm to 9pm and Sunday 9am to 9pm, and closed the rest of the week. Singapore Badminton Hall is at 1 Lorong 23 Geylang, a short distance from Kallang Sport Centre, and it is a dedicated badminton venue rather than a public sports hall.
It is privately run and booked through its own platform rather than through ActiveSG, on its own rates. If you simply want a court near Kallang it is still an option, but it is a different arrangement from a public hall, and our own sessions run at public ActiveSG halls.

Bendemeer’s two halls open Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday, and that is the whole of the public badminton week around Kallang Sport Centre. Our weekend badminton classes are built around exactly those hours.
Central Singapore is poorly served for this. There is no full-time public hall in Kallang, Geylang or Bendemeer, so a midweek session means travelling out of the precinct or using a private court.
Kallang is the country’s sporting address. The Sports Hub, the national stadium and the indoor arena all sit within a few minutes of Kallang Sport Centre, and large badminton events are held in the precinct.
Event use is not public court access. A hall that hosts a tournament is not a hall you can book on a Tuesday evening, so check what is actually reservable before you plan around it.
An area with weekend-only halls changes what a training week looks like. Most students around Kallang Sport Centre get one coached hour, and what happens either side of it matters more than it does for someone with a full-time hall nearby.
