Tampines Sport Centre Badminton: At Our Tampines Hub

Tampines Sport Centre is Our Tampines Hub, at 1 Tampines Walk, Singapore 528523, open daily from 7am to 10pm.
Two things catch people out here, and both are about names rather than facilities. The address is not on Tampines Street, and the badminton is not in anything called a sport hall.
Badminton at Tampines Sport Centre is played in the Our Tampines Hub Community Auditorium at 1 Tampines Walk, open daily from 7am to 10pm. It is the only public badminton venue in Tampines itself. Pasir Ris Secondary School Hall, at 390 Tampines Street 21 and managed from here, opens at weekends; the venue in Pasir Ris proper is covered on our Pasir Ris Sport Centre page.

Badminton at Tampines Sport Centre is played at Our Tampines Hub Community Auditorium, 1 Tampines Walk, open daily from 7am to 10pm.
An auditorium is not where most people look for a badminton court, so check the name on your booking before you travel. Our Tampines Hub also has a Team Sports Hall, and that one does not appear on the ActiveSG badminton listing at all. Book the auditorium.
Several listings give Tampines Sport Centre a Tampines Street address. ActiveSG publishes 1 Tampines Walk, Singapore 528523 for Tampines Sport Centre, which is Our Tampines Hub itself.
If you are navigating by memory of the old sports and recreation centre, check the address on your booking. The hub is a large building and the auditorium is inside it, so allow a few minutes to find the right entrance on a first visit.

Pasir Ris Secondary School Hall sits at 390 Tampines Street 21, Singapore 529400, and opens Saturday 3pm to 9pm and Sunday 9am to 9pm.
Despite the name, it is a Tampines address and it is managed from Tampines Sport Centre at 1 Tampines Walk. If your weekend booking at the auditorium is gone, that is the hall to try next, and it is closer to most of Tampines than its name suggests.
Courts at Tampines Sport Centre are booked through ActiveSG, in the app or on the website, not at the door. The same account covers the school hall.
Book a week or more ahead for a weekday evening. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are almost always open, and that is where the quiet court time in Tampines actually sits.

You have a full-time facility in the middle of town and a weekend hall on Tampines Street 21. Our badminton classes in Tampines page covers coaching in the area itself.
None of those has a public badminton hall of its own, so Tampines takes the overflow.
Two facilities take weekend bookings here, which is more than most of the east manages. Our weekend badminton classes are scheduled around those hours rather than against them.
ActiveSG lists Tampines ActiveSG Gym, Tampines Swimming Complex and the Team Sports Hall among the related facilities at Tampines Sport Centre.
Our Tampines Hub is one of the busiest buildings in the east and holds a good deal besides sport. The car park and the approach are shared with all of it, so allow extra time at weekends and in the evening.
Tampines Sport Centre sits at 1 Tampines Walk, close to the town centre. Most students arrive by bus or on foot rather than driving, and parking is the slowest part of the trip at peak hours.
If your booking is at the school hall instead, note that Tampines Street 21 is a different part of town from Tampines Walk. Confirm which one before you set off rather than at the door.
We coach at suitable public halls across the island, and here the hall decides the timing more than the format does. A weekday evening session is possible but needs booking well ahead; a weekend or daytime session is far easier to hold week after week.
Tell us the days you can reliably make before anything else. If this venue cannot give you a slot you will keep, we will say so and suggest one that can.
Which format suits you is a separate question from which hall you use, and our badminton classes page compares all nine side by side.
A large shared space at Tampines Sport Centre means most casual play here is doubles, because four to a court is how the hours stretch far enough to go round.
Doubles is a different game from singles and the part most social players get wrong is movement rather than technique. Our guide on how to rotate correctly with your doubles partner covers the pattern worth learning first.
Confirm whether your booking is for the auditorium or the school hall, check it is showing in the ActiveSG app, and look for maintenance notices. School halls close at shorter notice than full-time venues, because the school’s own use comes first.
Bring indoor court shoes with non-marking soles. Both venues take that seriously and it is the most common reason a player is turned away at the door.
If you have never been coached and want to see what it is like before committing to a term, a badminton trial class is a single hour with nothing attached.
It also tells you whether the slot we can get at Tampines Sport Centre actually suits your week, which is a more useful thing to learn in one session than in three months.
Tell us who is playing, their age and rough experience, and the days and times you can genuinely commit to. We will confirm what is bookable here and what the realistic alternative is.
We would rather place you at a venue you will keep attending than at the one nearest your flat. In Tampines those are usually the same place, which is part of why students here stay longer than average.
