Badminton At Jurong East Sport Centre

Jurong East Sport Centre is at 21 Jurong East Street 31, Singapore 609517, and its sport hall is open daily from 7am to 10pm.

There is a second badminton hall in the estate that most people never find, because it does not have Jurong East in its name.

Badminton at Jurong East Sport Centre is played in Jurong East Sport Hall at 21 Jurong East Street 31, open daily from 7am to 10pm. Jurongville Secondary School Hall at 202 Jurong East Avenue 1 is the estate’s second badminton hall, open at weekends only. Courts at both are booked through ActiveSG.

The Hall, And When You Can Get A Court

The hall at Jurong East Sport Centre is a full-time facility, open every day from 7am to 10pm. That makes a weekday evening game genuinely possible here, which is not true of every estate in the west.

Possible is not the same as easy. One full-time hall at Jurong East Sport Centre serving the whole estate means the 7pm to 9pm window carries most of the demand, and Saturday afternoon is the hardest slot of the week.

The Second Hall Nobody Looks For

Jurong East has one public badminton venue, booked through ActiveSG. Search for “Jurong” and four do, and one of them is in Jurong East despite its name.

Jurongville Secondary School Hall sits at 202 Jurong East Avenue 1, Singapore 609790, and opens Saturday 3pm to 9pm and Sunday 9am to 9pm. If your weekend booking at Jurong East Sport Centre is gone, that is the hall to try before giving up on the time you wanted.

Booking A Court

Courts at Jurong East Sport Centre are booked through ActiveSG, in the app or on the website, not at the door. The same account covers Jurongville.

Book a week or more ahead for a weekday evening. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are almost always open, and that is where the quiet court time in Jurong East actually sits.

Who This Venue Suits

Residents Of Jurong East

You have a full-time hall on your doorstep and a weekend overflow in the same estate. Our badminton lessons in Jurong East page covers coaching in the area itself.

Players From The Wider West

Clementi, Bukit Batok and Boon Lay players all use it. Anyone further west should compare it against Jurong West Sport Centre, which is the other full-time hall in this part of the island.

Weekend Players

Two halls open at weekends here, which is one more than most estates manage. Our weekend badminton classes are scheduled around those hours rather than against them.

What Else Is On The Site

ActiveSG lists Jurong East ActiveSG Gym, Jurong East Stadium and Jurong East Swimming Complex among the related facilities at Jurong East Sport Centre, each with its own hours and entry arrangements.

They share the approach and the car park, so a busy swimming weekend slows the trip even though the hall itself is unaffected.

Getting There

Jurong East Sport Centre sits on Jurong East Street 31, near the interchange rather than beside it. Check the walk from the station against a bus route before assuming the train is quickest, particularly if you are carrying a bag and arriving at peak hour.

If your booking is at Jurongville instead, note that it is on Jurong East Avenue 1, a different road entirely. Confirm the address before you set off rather than at the door.

Coaching At Jurong East Sport Centre

We coach at suitable public halls across the island, and here the hall decides the timing more than the format does. A weekday evening session is possible but needs booking well ahead; a weekend or daytime session is far easier to hold week after week.

Tell us the days you can reliably make before anything else. If this hall cannot give you a slot you will keep, we will say so and suggest one that can.

Which format suits you is a separate question from which hall you use, and our badminton classes page compares all nine side by side.

What Regular Court Time Changes

Jurong East Sport Centre lets a student play more than once a week without a long trip, and that changes which parts of the game improve fastest.

Technique responds to instruction. Reaction speed and anticipation respond to volume, because they are built from seeing the same situations often enough to stop thinking about them. Our guide on how badminton players react so fast covers what is actually happening there.

Before You Travel

Confirm which of the two halls your booking is for, check it is showing in the ActiveSG app, and look for maintenance notices. School halls close at shorter notice than full-time centres, because the school’s own use comes first.

Bring indoor court shoes with non-marking soles. Both halls take that seriously and it is the most common reason a player is turned away at the door.

Trying A Session Here First

If you have never been coached and want to see what it is like before committing to a term, a badminton trial class is a single hour with nothing attached.

It also tells you whether the slot we can get at Jurong East Sport Centre actually suits your week, which is a more useful thing to learn in one session than in three months.

Enquiring About Coaching Here

Tell us who is playing, their age and rough experience, and the days and times you can genuinely commit to. We will confirm what is bookable at both halls and which one fits your schedule better.

We would rather place you at a hall you will keep attending than at the one nearest your flat. In Jurong East those are usually the same place, which is part of why students here stay longer than average.
