Choa Chu Kang Sport Centre | Badminton & Facilities

Choa Chu Kang Sport Centre sits at 1 Choa Chu Kang Street 53, Singapore 689236, and the part of it you want for badminton is the indoor sport hall. Everything else on the site is a different facility with its own hours.
That distinction matters, because the gym and the swimming complex sit on the same site and share the name. This page covers the badminton hall only.
Badminton at Choa Chu Kang Sport Centre is played in the indoor sport hall at 1 Choa Chu Kang Street 53. The hall runs daily from 7am to 10pm and courts are booked through ActiveSG rather than at the door. It is the only badminton facility ActiveSG lists in Choa Chu Kang, which is why evening slots go quickly.

The sport hall is a full-time facility, open daily from 7am to 10pm. That puts Choa Chu Kang in the better half of the island: school halls elsewhere open at weekends only, so a weekday evening game here is genuinely possible.
Possible is not the same as easy. Choa Chu Kang has one public badminton venue, booked through ActiveSG. One hall serves a large estate, so the 7pm to 9pm window on weekdays is the hardest to secure and Saturday afternoon is worse.
Courts are booked through ActiveSG, in the app or on the website, not by turning up. You will need an ActiveSG account and a booking made in advance; walk-in availability is the exception rather than the plan.
Book a week or more ahead for an evening slot. If you are flexible, weekday mornings and early afternoons are almost always open, and that is where the quieter court time actually is.

The centre is on Street 53, inside the residential estate rather than beside the town centre. The LRT loop puts several stops closer to it than the main interchange does, so check the route from your own address rather than assuming.
If you are driving, allow extra time at weekends. The car park serves the whole complex, including the swimming complex, and it fills before the hall does.
There is no second public hall nearby, which makes booking early more important here than in areas with two or three.

Bukit Panjang, Yew Tee and Bukit Batok players all use it. Our badminton lessons in Choa Chu Kang page covers coaching in the area, and Yew Tee students often train here rather than closer to home.
Because the hall is full-time, Sunday mornings here are more available than at venues that depend on school halls. Our weekend badminton classes run to those hours.
The complex also holds an ActiveSG gym and a swimming complex. Both are separate facilities with their own hours, their own entry arrangements and their own closure notices.
They share the car park and the approach road, so a busy swimming weekend slows the trip even when the hall itself is quiet.
We coach at suitable public halls across the island, and here the hall decides the timing more than the format does. A weekday evening session is possible but needs booking well ahead; a weekend or daytime session is far easier to hold week after week.
Tell us the days you can reliably make before anything else. If this hall cannot give you a slot you will keep, we will say so and suggest one that can.
Which format suits you is a separate question from which hall you use, and our badminton classes page compares all nine side by side.
Check the current hours for the specific facility you are using, not for the complex as a whole. Confirm your court booking is showing in the ActiveSG app, and check for maintenance notices, which close halls at short notice more often than people expect.
Bring indoor court shoes with non-marking soles. Public halls take that seriously, and it is the most common reason a player is turned away at the door. If you are unsure whether the pair you own qualifies, our guide on whether badminton shoes can be used for walking explains what the sole actually has to do.
If you have never been coached and want to see what it is like before committing to a term, a badminton trial class is a single hour with nothing attached.
It also tells you whether the slot we can get here actually suits your week, which is a more useful thing to find out in one session than in three months.
Tell us who is playing, their age and rough experience, and the days and times you can genuinely commit to. We will confirm what is bookable at this hall and what the realistic alternative is.
We would rather place you at a hall you will keep attending than at the one closest to your flat. Here those are often the same thing, which is part of why the venue works well for regular students.
