Badminton Court Booking For The School Holidays

Badminton court booking gets busier once school ends. The 2026 school year finishes on 20 November, and the year-end holidays run from 21 November to 31 December, according to the MOE school calendar. This guide explains how public courts are booked, what they cost and when to book, and how we help families who want lessons during the break.

Badminton court booking in Singapore happens online. ActiveSG courts are booked on MyActiveSG+, where peak slots are balloted 14 days ahead and off-peak slots open 12 days ahead, and community club courts are booked on OnePA, 15 days ahead. ActiveSG charges Citizens and PRs $3.50 an hour off-peak and $7.40 at peak times. For lessons, send us your child’s age, playing level, preferred time and location.

How Badminton Court Booking Works In Singapore

Most public courts you can book belong to one of two networks. ActiveSG runs the sport halls and school halls managed by Sport Singapore, and the People’s Association runs the courts at community clubs. Each network has its own booking system, its own rates and its own booking window.

Private halls are a third option, usually at a higher hourly rate. For holiday play and lessons, the public networks give you the widest choice of locations across the island, from Woodlands to Tampines.

Booking An ActiveSG Court

ActiveSG courts are booked on MyActiveSG+, the web-based platform run by Sport Singapore, with a Singpass login for every member. ActiveSG badminton court booking then works in two ways, as the ActiveSG answers on Ask.gov explain. Peak-hour slots go to a ballot that opens 14 days before the date of play, from 12 midnight, with results sent the next day.

Off-peak slots, and any peak slots left after the ballot, open 12 days ahead at 12 noon on a first-come, first-served basis. The member who booked the court must be present and play, and ActiveSG suggests one 60-minute session a day so that more players get a turn.

ActiveSG Court Rates And Peak Hours

ActiveSG lists its badminton rates per court per hour on its individual rates page. Singapore Citizens and PRs pay $3.50 off-peak and $7.40 at peak times. The standard rate is $4.60 off-peak and $9.70 at peak times.

Peak hours are 6pm to 10pm on weekdays, and 7am to 10pm on weekends and public holidays. Off-peak hours are 7am to 6pm on weekdays. During the school holidays, weekday mornings and afternoons are both off-peak and quieter, which suits your child if they are free during the day.

Booking A Community Club Court On OnePA

Community club courts are booked through the OnePA portal, 15 days in advance, with the window moving forward one day at 10pm each evening. Each community club sets its own prices, based on the age of the hall, how busy it is and its upkeep costs. A March 2026 check by Mothership found most community club courts charging between $3 and $18 an hour.

Community club halls are often close to home, which makes them a handy choice for your short sessions after a family errand or before dinner.

Planning Your Badminton Court Booking Around The Holidays

Start by picking the days your child is free, then work back from the booking window. With ActiveSG peak slots balloted 14 days ahead and off-peak slots opening 12 days ahead, a session in the first week of December can be planned from mid-November.

Keep the time of day consistent. A regular slot, such as 10am every Tuesday and Thursday, builds a routine that carries over well into the new school term in January.

Booking A Court For Badminton Lessons

We currently run our lessons on public courts rather than a hall of our own, which lets us teach close to where our students live. If you would like lessons during the holidays, we can take care of the badminton court booking. Send us four details: your child’s age, playing level, preferred time and preferred location.

We then check our ongoing class schedule for a group that matches. If a suitable class is running, your child can join it straight away. Otherwise, we help book a court near you for the lessons, so the session runs at a time and place that suits your family.

Joining One Of Our Group Classes

A group class is often the simplest way to play through the holidays, because the court is already arranged for you. Children train with others at a similar level, which keeps sessions lively and gives them partners for games at the end.

Our group badminton lessons and kids badminton lessons pages explain how each format works, and our badminton lessons page covers every option for children and adults.

More Ways To Fill The School Holidays

For a focused block of training, our badminton holiday camp runs morning sessions over several days in December. Many families pair a camp with a weekly lesson, so new skills are practised again in the weeks that follow.

New players can read our guide to badminton training for beginners before their first session, so the basics feel familiar from the start.

Sending Us Your Holiday Lesson Details

WhatsApp us with your child’s age, playing level, preferred time and location for the lessons. We will reply with a group class your child can join, or with a court we can book for lessons near you.
